Keeping track of complex processes with Order Monitor

In business operations, countless e-mails, faxes, Excel tables and phone calls travel to and fro between customers and suppliers. The new Order Monitor eLogistics application enables DACHSER customers to keep track of their orders from suppliers around the globe.

The world is becoming increasingly complex. Global suppliers operating in different time zones, the large number of parties involved in order processes, and the ensuing transport service – these are just a few of the aspects of global procurement systems. And the various IT systems and communication channels via e-mail, fax, Excel tables and telephone – as well as the growing demand for transparency – make matters even more complicated. And when changes are made to the quantities ordered or to be delivered, things can get even more confusing.

A single system for the entire process

Order Monitor enables all parties involved to follow the entire order process, including the physical transport of goods, via a single system. And the system does not only provide the usual data on Tracking & Tracing. Order Monitor kicks in much earlier, i.e. the moment goods are ordered from the supplier. From that point onwards, Order Monitor enables users to track an order through the various stages of processing.

The status of an order is displayed throughout the process, from the initial order through to the final delivery, and is kept up to date by all those involved. All users are provided only with the information they actually need, and changes can only be made by people who are authorized to do so. In other words, users have access to all the information they need at all times, and the consignee can respond to any deviations that may occur and – where necessary – reschedule operations.

It’s the little details that count

Order Monitor is no conventional system. Alongside the basic components required in order processes, Order Monitor is checked with all participants for their specific requirements, and can be adjusted where necessary. Only then does the real start-up of the application begin. But the system can also be adjusted at a later stage if requirements change. In other words, the system enables DACHSER to offer its customers a highly flexible system in a world which is constantly changing.
