DACHSER strengthens the Regensburg region

Mintraching branch goes into operation: EUR 12 million invested, creating 20 new jobs

In January, DACHSER opened a new logistics centre in the Upper Palatinate region of Germany. Some months later, in September, the new branch in Mintraching near Regensburg was officially inaugurated.

The international logistics provider has invested a total of EUR 12 million in the new site, which is located near the A 3 Regensburg-Passau motorway, in Mintraching’s Rosenhof business park. DACHSER already employs 108 staff in the Regensburg region, and a further 20 are to join them by the end of 2007.

The logistics centre has been built on a 57,000 square-metre site near the A 3 Regensburg-Passau motorway, in Mintraching’s Rosenhof business park. The new facility replaces the former DACHSER branch in Regensburg.
Branch manager Arnold Külper states the reason for the enlargement of the base: “The new site offers us outstanding opportunities for expansion.” In its first construction phase, the Mintraching facility has a total of 60 gates and a transshipment hall with approx. 5,350 square metres of utilizable floor space. In a second building phase, it will be possible to expand the facilities to a total of 8,400 square metres and 90 gates.

With 60 arrivals and departures every day, DACHSER links the business centres of Europe with the Regensburg region. Intercontinental connections are provided by an air and sea logistics office in Nuremberg.
