DACHSER invests in Salzburg and Berchtesgaden
DACHSER is expanding in the Salzburg and Berchtesgaden region. The international logistics provider staged a major celebration to mark the opening of its new branch in Ainring (Bavaria).
The “Berchtesgadener-Salzburger Land” logistics centre is an extension of the Austrian branch in Bergheim. The facility occupies a 20,160 square-metre plot and has a 3,718 square-metre transshipment hall with 40 gates and an office building. The total complex has cost some EUR 8 million.
The site is conveniently located at the intersection of the B 304 and B 20 highways, and is very close to the German A 8 and Austrian A 1 motorways in a region that offers good development potential on both sides of the border.
The company has relocated 30 German and Austrian members of staff from its Bergheim branch to Ainring, and has taken on three additional employees. Since 1 September 2007, the facility has also had two new trainees who are gaining qualifications as forwarding specialists.
