Budapest: The economic and cultural centre of Hungary

LIEGL & DACHSER successful in Hungary

For years now, the Hungarian economy has been performing well, especially in the industrial belt around the capital, Budapest. LIEGL & DACHSER has its facilities in that region, in the city of Pilisvörösvár. The joint venture is benefiting actively from the country’s economic uptrend.

The stable infrastructure and the high level of training make the country on the Danube interesting for investors. The most important target industries for foreign direct investment are vehicle manufacture, electrical engineering/electronics, the food sector, and chemicals. The latter can look back on a tradition spanning over a century in Hungary. Today, too, it is one of the country’s key industries.

In deciding to set up one of biggest dangerous goods warehouses for Central and Eastern Europe in Pilisvörösvár in 2006, LIEGL & DACHSER correctly read the signs of the times. Dachser’s customers include some well-known internationally operating chemical companies, who are today ensuring that the warehouse is running at virtually full capacity. Recently, the logistics provider gained two new global players in the chemicals industry for the branch: SC Johnson and Bayer. On top of that, the industrial and consumer goods supplier tesa has also established its central warehouse for Eastern Europe (excluding Poland) with LIEGL & DACHSER in Pilisvörösvár. That significantly increases the number of direct scheduled connections between Hungary and its Central and Eastern European neighbours.
