Logimasters-DACHSER further expands its network in Brazil
New office in Manaus
By opening a new branch in the Amazonian metropolis of Manaus, one of Brazil’s key industrial centres, the joint venture “Logimasters-Dachser Transportes Nacionais e Internacionais Ltda.” has further expanded its logistics network in Brazil. The new location means that the company is now represented in all the country’s major business centres.
Manaus lies on the east bank of the Rio Negro, a tributary of the Amazon, and – with 1.5 million inhabitants – is one of Brazil’s biggest cities. The market in this city is enormous. Above all, freight coming in from Asia is further processed in Manaus and sold in Mercosur, an internal market with 250 million people. "We are able to offer our full range of services on the spot, working closely together with our colleagues from DACHSER Far East Ltd. and our South Korean partner company MGI & DACHSER Inc.,” says Rodrigo Simoes, manager of the Manaus branch.
Before the new office was opened, Manaus was the only city in Brazil where Logimasters-Dachser did not have a branch of its own. At the end of 2006, DACHSER set up a new company along with Logimasters, one of Brazil’s leading logistics providers, as a joint venture. The joint venture now has 14 branches and a closely-meshed network in Brazil, which is Germany’s most important trading partner in Latin America.
