New branch in Cincinnati strengthens DACHSER USA
The growth trend in the DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics business segment continues. In the USA, too, the opening of a new branch in Cincinnati is a signal of further expansion.
Cincinnati is the third-largest city in the US state of Ohio. It is regarded as one of the key centres of trade and industry in the Midwest, enjoys a central location, and is linked to a number of major industrial centres by waterways and the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), which was voted the country’s best airport in 2004.
Cincinnati is home above all to companies operating in the chemicals and plastics processing industry, but also serves as a popular base for leading electronics and automobile companies. Furthermore, over 70 German companies are located there. Frank Guenzerodt, national manager of DACHSER USA, points out: “With our new branch we cover the whole of Ohio, Kentucky, southern Indiana and the eastern part of Michigan, including Detroit.” As a licensed customs broker, the branch also handles all the US customs clearance activities on behalf of its customers.
“Our aim is to ensure that we have branches at all the key airports and ports in the USA,” says Frank Guenzerodt, adding that the establishment of the Cincinnati base is an important step in that development. “This year, we will be opening further branches in the USA, which means that we will be even closer to our customers,” he continues.
DACHSER has been operating in the USA since as long ago as 1972. The logistics company continues to expand its range of services and its network, which now comprises 10 air and sea freight offices in the country. In other words, the company offers its customers a combination of longstanding experience and innovative logistics solutions.
