Ireland on the doorstep
The successful partnership with Johnston Logistics Ltd. allows DACHSER to increase the frequency of its weekly services to Ireland and expand its pan-European network.
DACHSER has been cooperating with the family-run enterprise Johnston Logistics Ltd. in Ireland for over a year now. So far, transport services have been operated between Ireland and western and eastern European countries; now DACHSER has extended its services.
Since 1 July DACHSER’s and Johnston’s trucks have also serviced France, Portugal and North Africa. In a second step, DACHSER successfully integrated its partners for the Baltic states and Spain into the cooperation. In future, DACHSER will transport goods between Ireland and nearly all European countries.
In light of the continuously growing volume of consignments, DACHSER has also increased the frequency of its services to Dublin from three to four per week. The additional departure allows DACHSER to deliver mobile guaranteed shipments received by the Cologne branch before 5 am on Saturday within the Greater Dublin area as early as Monday. Shipment times for departures on all other days of the week are between 48 and 72 hours.
DACHSER’s Graveleau subsidiary uses the English Dartford branch for its shipments to Ireland. This runs a daily scheduled service to Dublin together with the Northampton facility. Thanks to gap-free Tracking & Tracing via EDI, customers can trace the status of their consignments along the entire supply chain.

The Irish family-run enterprise Johnston Logistics Ltd. was founded in Dublin in 1979 and today has three offices of its own as well three other partner locations, one of which is in Northern Ireland. In 2007, Johnston transported some 200,000 consignments.
