Life needs logistics, too
DACHSER has recently started to invite staff to participate in the “DACHSER Intelligent Care” staff care provision programme. The goals are to promote health within the company and provide staff retirement pensions. Thomas Schulz, division manager Central Personnel, reports on the results of the rollout in 2008.
Demographic change and the raising of the statutory retirement age have brought about changes in today’s industrial society. To counteract this, the logistics provider has launched its Intelligent Care staff care provision programme. The age structure among DACHSER employees is currently fairly balanced. However, this is likely to change over the next few years. Through the Intelligent Care staff care provision programme, DACHSER aims to promote the health of its employees through preventive care and actively support them in staying fit and healthy until retirement age and beyond. DACHSER’s company retirement pension scheme is designed to ensure financial independence in older age.
In 2008, DACHSER launched the programme in all German branches. From 2009, the company will successively extend the programme to also cover its other European locations.
To begin with, kick-off events are being held for management staff. These are being followed up by a care day held at all branches to inform staff about the programme and offer initial healthcare measures. These include advice on ergonomics and nutrition, health courses and, if required, mobile massage.
