Thomas Reuter (managing director DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics) and Hai Berden (owner and managing director Seacon).

DACHSER and Seacon Logistics establish joint venture in the Netherlands

At the beginning of July 2008 DACHSER and Seacon Logistics, a renowned cargo agent and contract provider in the Netherlands, set up a joint venture named DACHSER Netherlands Air & Sea Logistics B.V.

Both partners have a 50% stake in the company. The newly founded business is based in Maastricht and managed by General Manager Mr. Huub Leurs.

In the future, further offices will be set up at the primary trade locations in the Netherlands. For the time being, the start-up joint venture will be focusing upon intercontinental air freight business at the airport of Maastricht and will also be developing sea freight traffic for the DACHSER global network.

DACHSER has been active in this country since 1975 with its business division European Logistics and operates two branch offices in Waddinxveen and Zevenaar which are connected to the area-wide DACHSER overland transport network in Europe.

“The Netherlands as a cargo handling center is gaining in importance particularly in Europe so that our international clientele will benefit from this cooperation,” said Thomas Reuter, managing director of DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics

When forming collaborations DACHSER always focuses on qualified partners with experience in their respective domestic markets. On a national scale with more than 350 employees and a turnover of approx. 100 million Euro, the Seacon Group is one of the leading logistics providers in the Netherlands. “Through this joint venture DACHSER is gaining direct access to the Dutch and intercontinental market and will profit from the existing local know-how, whereas Seacon Logistics is in a position to use the advantages of the worldwide DACHSER network,” said Hai Berden, owner and managing director of Seacon.
