Cast off for Sea Freight Product Management
Sea Freight Product Management is not only seeing an increase in freight volumes, but also in staff numbers.
DACHSER’s sea freight business has been growing at rates of over 25% for some time now. Now the logistics company has reacted to this trend and set up a Sea Freight Product Management division in Hamburg. The division is responsible for shipping line policy and manages the ongoing expansion of DACHSER’s global sea freight activities. One important task is the further networking of the meanwhile 133 Air & Sea Logistics offices with 2,426 employees.
Due to its strategic and international orientation, Sea Freight Product Management forms part of the head office in Kempten. Division manager is Martin Reichner. The 36-year-old’s area of speciality is the EMEA region: Europe, Middle East & Africa. Reichner is a qualified port forwarding agent and a graduate in business management specializing in international logistics. Before joining DACHSER, he was managing director of the French national company of a container shipping line.

Frank Bansemir has reinforced the Product Management team since 1 April 2008. He concentrates on the Indian subcontinent, the Far East and Australasia. The 40-year-old is a qualified transport logistics specialist and graduated in business administration from the German academy of foreign trade and transport (DAV). He most recently held a managerial position with a container shipping line.

Roald Scholz took up his position as product manager for the ‘Americas’ (North/South and Central America) on 1 May 2008. He is 39 years old, a qualified shipping clerk and until recently worked as worldwide product manager for Latin America and Special Commodities with a major seaport forwarding agency.
