DACHSER grows in South-East Asia
DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics is continuing to expand its intercontinental network in 2009. In January the business segment has set up a joint venture in Thailand.
DACHSER recently announced its entry into the Thai market. The logistics provider is represented in the area via its Indian joint venture AFL DACHSER Pvt. Ltd. and is operating under the name DACHSER AFL Thailand Ltd.
The joint venture has its head office in Bangkok. 90% of the shares are held by AFL DACHSER, the remaining 10% by the local management. Despite political unrest, Thailand’s economy is booming. Exports to Europe, Asia and India are showing high growth rates.
Operational management of DACHSER AFL Thailand is in the hands of managing director Jittimit Somchart and chief executive officer Detlev Janik, who is also in charge of the Indian joint venture AFL DACHSER Pvt. Ltd.
