Hermann Tank integrated in Bremen and Langenhagen
Following the takeover of the North German Tank Group in July 2008, two of the five Tank locations were integrated into the DACHSER network by the turn of the year.
By the end of 2008, Tank had fulfilled its supply and delivery obligations towards the Profresh logistics association according to contract. Since the beginning of 2009, consignments from the catchment area of the food logistics provider have been handled by the DACHSER Food Logistics network.
DACHSER had been carefully planning the amalgamation of Tank’s facilities and the DACHSER branches in Bremen and Langenhagen for a number of months. The result: the conversion of outbound customers to DACHSER and the move of Tank’s staff to their new place of work went off without a hitch. The existing Tank branches in Bremen and Hanover are currently being converted into warehouses.
From March 2009, the northernmost point in DACHSER’s German Food Logistics network will be in Rendsburg. The Tank branch there is currently the administrative headquarters of the Tank Group. This marks the end of the long-standing cooperation between the partner Transit Transport Flensburg, TTF, based in Schleswig-Holstein, and DACHSER’s Food Logistics business segment. TTF will continue to distribute industrial goods.
The Tank facilities in Hamburg and Zeven will continue to operate as before. The 130-truck vehicle fleet will also continue to be used for handling Tank and DACHSER transport orders.
