18 tonnes up to the fourth floor? – No problem for DACHSER China
The SIEMENS E&A office in Shenzhen commissioned the DACHSER Shenzhen branch with a special project. Four chip mounting machines weighing a total of 18 tonnes were to be delivered from the SIEMENS plant in Singapore via Hong Kong to its customer in Shenzhen.
Due to their excessive size, the logistics provider, DACHSER, loaded the machines onto special transporters from the plant to the port. There, its partner in Singapore took charge of handling the machines, including packaging, loading into containers and protective padding.
On arrival of the freight at the port of Hong Kong, DACHSER Shenzhen, in close cooperation with colleagues from DACHSER Hong Kong, transshipped the containers and dealt with the official formalities. After delivery in Shenzhen SHATOUJIAO, the DACHSER team swiftly unloaded all the machines from the containers using forklift trucks. With the help of a heavy-duty crane and flat-base plates, each of the approximately four-tonne machines was hoisted safely up four floors to the production department of SIEMENS’ customer.
Both SIEMENS and its customer commended DACHSER’s competence and exceptional logistics know-how and would definitely consider commissioning the logistics provider again for future machine transports.
