Portuguese quartet
Dachser opens fourth location in Europe’s most westerly country.
In early January, Dachser Portugal S.A. opened a new branch in Albufeira on the Algarve coast. In addition to the Oporto, Coimbra and Lisbon locations, Albufeira is Dachser’s fourth branch in Portugal, providing area-wide coverage and linking all of the country’s major economic centres. This ensures compliance with the defined entargo shipment times, both regionally and Europe-wide.
Since the rebranding from Graveleau (Portugal) Transitários S.A. to Dachser Portugal S.A. on 1 October 2009, the company has opened a new branch in Albufeira in the beginning of this year. At the same time, warehouse capacities of the Dachser logistics centre in Coimbra have been expanded: 200 kilometres north of the capital, Lisbon, 5,000 pallet spaces are now available. The Dachser branch in Coimbra is one of the biggest logistics platforms in Central Portugal.
In addition to national and international overland freight services, Dachser Portugal S.A.’s services portfolio includes air and sea freight handling, contract logistics and pan-European load forwarding services. A total of 155 employees ensure the speedy and reliable flow of goods.
On the island of Madeira, Dachser Portugal has cooperated since 2009 with the logistics provider CargoMadeira, offering customers the same high service standards as on the mainland. These include the shipmentcontrol and shipmentpointer eLogistics applications, which allow gap-free Tracking & Tracing via the Internet.
