Avanti! Shorter shipment times to Italy and back
Dachser Food Logistics has a new partner in the land of Mediterranean delights.
Since February, Dachser Food Logistics has been operating its freight services to and from Italy in cooperation with the logistics partner Papp Italia s.r.l. The fully-owned Italian subsidiary of the Munich-based family company Balthasar Papp has its head office in Pradelle di Nogarole Rocca near Verona.
The food logistics provider makes regular food deliveries to over 1,000 consignees in Italy via its central transshipment point near Verona. The company handles the majority of its deliveries to Italian retailers itself, but for smaller loads Papp Italia uses an extensive network of partners. The partnership with Dachser provides Papp with direct access to one of the most efficient food logistics networks in Europe.
For Dachser as well as Italy expert Papp, shipment times for consignments to and from Italy will be shorter. For example, consignments from Germany to the central retail warehouses directly supplied by Papp need only two to three days. From day one, customers of both companies will receive status information on their consignments on the Internet and be able to trace their whereabouts at all times.
All locations in the Papp Group are certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and IFS Logistic standards. Thus Papp ideally matches Dachser’s Food Logistics concept to offer customers the best possible pan-European service, while ensuring highest levels of food safety. As well as branches in Munich and Verona, Papp is also represented in Ramstein (Palatinate) and Kundl (Austria). The Papp Group has 151 staff and every year handles around 70,000 truck loads.
