In Sweden, Thomsen uses its own eco-liners. The Scandinavia specialist operates regular services to Sweden, Norway and Finland.

Thomsen is the new food logistics partner for Sweden, Norway and Finland

In January, Dachser Food Logistics launched a new cooperation with Scandinavia specialist Thomsen. The new partner is taking over distribution activities for Dachser in Sweden, Norway and Finland. This ensures gap-free Tracking and Tracing and also shorter shipment times to many areas.

The Dachser branch in Hamburg continues to operate as a platform, consolidating goods from Dachser and its European partners on a daily basis. The logistics partner Thomsen then assumes responsibility for onward distribution.

The forwarding company Jens Thomsen Spedition based in Gudendorf, Schleswig-Holstein, has operated regular freight services to Scandinavia for nearly 40 years. Apart from the northern German locations in Hamburg and Güstrow, Thomsen has a branch of its own in Helsingborg, Sweden, thus assuring it of all-important local contacts. The Swedish warehouse there serves as a cross-docking point where inbound and outbound freight services are consolidated. Thomsen utilizes its own eco-liners – considerably longer vehicles with a permissible gross weight of 60 tonnes. The company is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and employs more than 220 staff. Altogether, the logistics partner has a vehicle fleet of 150 state-of-the-art trucks for the transport of fresh and frozen foodstuffs. All vehicles are equipped with telematic systems.
